Would you stay in a Crane?
An unashamedly bonkers hotel in up-and-coming Amsterdam Noord, The Netherlands. This three-suite hotel is housed in a converted crane and boasts modern design and spectacular city views. Opulent and obscure in equal measure, this hotel is ideal if you’re looking for something totally different, but best avoided if you suffer from vertigo. Would you stay in a Crane?
Located on the waterfront of Amsterdam lays possibly the most quirky hotel in the world. The Crane Hotel Faralda is a 5 star hotel set in a dockside crane, offering three luxurious suites. If you’re scared of heights, this may not be the stay for you as each room sits between 35 to 50 metres off the ground. Free Spirit, Secret and Mystique are the names of the luxury suites, which offer amazing views of the surrounding scenery. No need booking a specific room depending on he view. The crane moves with the wind around so your views will change.
“If your bedroom isn’t adventurous enough, hike up to the top deck, here you’ll find your private hot tub. If you want to stay closer to the ground, there’s also a Panoramic lounge at a height of 10 to 15 metres. Would you stay in a Crane?”
The ambitious project took over five years to complete as well as an enormous financial injection. Production of cost per suite was the highest ever recorded in the Netherlands. For your own hair-raising stay, prices start from euro 450 per room. Is that expensive for an unforgettable stay?
All suites are equipped with the usual services and amenities – coffee machines, kettles, minibars, televisions and music streaming devices – while bathrooms come with rainforest showers and porthole windows, which allow you to admire Amsterdam while conditioning your hair.
And if this isn’t enough Amsterdam’s crane hotel also offers its guests the opportunity to bungee jump off the top of the crane!
